Peak performance for mountain challenge
Peak performance for mountain challenge

As technical manager for our market leading pre-cut lids, I know all about the importance of high performance, and last month my own performance levels were put to the test when I attempted to scale the highest peak in Western Europe, Mont Blanc.

The full trip took six days (3 days training in Italy, where we climbed Italy’s highest mountain, Gran Paradiso), day 4 was the initial climb to the Tete Rousse hut, Day 5 was summit day (a 7 hour climb) and Day 6 was the return to Chamonix.

The trip helped to raise over £1000 for the Christie charity.

At 4,810 metres high and described as one of the world's deadliest mountains, the climb wasn't without its challenges. It was definitely one of the hardest things I've ever done physically and mentally, but an amazing experience and the views from the top were spectacular.  A big thank you to all those who supported me.
